Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus (BGCC) has been providing out-of-school programming to under-served youth in Columbus since 1948. BGCC operates 7 (soon to be 8) Clubs in Central Ohio’s most at-risk neighborhoods (J. Ashburn Jr. Boys & Girls Club, Milo-Grogan Boys & Girls Club, KIPP Connect Boys & Girls Club, R.I.S.E. Boys & Girls Club, Pheasant Run Boys & Girls Club, Metro/UA Boys & Girls Clubs, and the South Side Boys & Girls Club).

The youth-led initiative was created to foster a sense of individual responsibility amongst young people to change their community in a positive direction, specifically around issues that directly affect their demographic. This group came together as members of the same after-school program. The group was established to collectively reach solutions for community issues. They seek to establish healthy eating habits among young people and improve overall wellness and health.
