Arkbuilders Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building strong, healthy, affirming communities. We are a confederation of like-minded people, faith groups, community organizations, educational institutions, and social agencies united for this common purpose.


Youth in Action

Youth in Action to focus in engaging a new age group as part of our current programming. OHCO established the Youth Planning Board, consisting of 10 dedicated teenagers ranging from ages 14 - 18 years old to conduct weekly team meetings, develop ideas, elaborate on existing challenges, research specific data, discuss important topics and challenges face, and plan for the implementation of the Youth-Led initiative.  

South side Community Collaborative Teen Leadership Academy

“The youth in the Southside Community Collaborative Teen Leadership Academy will collectively engage in the strategic planning process to create and implement prevention strategies to address the mental health and fitness of the community on the south side of Columbus, Ohio. The above total does not include in kind services from Columbus Recreation and Parks, Maryhaven, Columbus Health Department, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and Columbus City Schools.” -SCC TLA

Black Girls Rise

“Evaluating the African American Girls’ Experience of Trauma and Resiliency in Ohio’s Communities is a journey towards academic success and positive socialization for African American girls. There are approximately 201,000 African American girls living in Ohio; the majority residing in metropolitan areas. Research suggests that urban African American girls are significantly exposed to more traumatic stressors than children of other racial groups. The Black Girls Rise Research Project is designed to explore the ways in which urban adolescent African American girls experience their world and the ways in which they are affected by those experiences.” -Black Girls Rise
