OhioGuidestone was founded in 1864 as an orphanage to care for children during the Civil War. Built on a solid foundation of experience and expertise, our approach is comprehensive, integrated, and aimed at creating long-term solutions for the children, families, and communities we have served for over 150 years. Today, OhioGuidestone serves over 32,000 program participants in more than 20 counties across the state. Our programming has expanded to include Counseling for all ages, Early Childhood Mental Health services, Family Support, Supported Recovery programs, School Services, Workforce Readiness programming, and Juvenile Justice and Youth services. With the advent of every new program, we work to better outcomes, strengthen supports, and enhance lives through the utilization of the strongest, most effective programming possible. OhioGuidestone’s Central Ohio office opened in 2007, in response to the demand for in-home support for local children and families. We designed our programs to support children and families facing a wide range of issues, including parent-child conflict, marriage or relationship problems, anxiety and stress management, attention problems, depression, grief, loss, abuse, neglect, victimization, addiction, and other mental health concerns. OhioGuidestone of Central Ohio has been providing prevention education services since October 2017 to Hamilton Local School District.

The P.O.W.E.R. U.P. (Positive Outlooks With Empowerment Reaching Unique Pupils) group was created to acknowledge and combat stress that exists in the life of a high school student. Their focus is to provide support and tools to relieve anxiety and pressure associated with the high school experience. The students were recruited during lunch period. Ohio Guidestone set up a table and engaged students about their interest in forming a youth- led group. The group’s focus is helping students gain tools to reduce stress and anxiety. This group wants to encourage a positive, compassionate, empathetic environment within the school. The members of this group would like to provide a safe place for all students.
